Actions

Actions are the tasks an automation performs when its trigger fires and all conditions are met. Each automation can perform one or more actions.

Available actions

Send Email

Sends an email to the applicant (or another address) using one of the organization’s email templates.

Settings:

  • Template: which email template to send
  • Recipient: the applicant, or a fixed address

Example: Send the “Application received” template to the applicant when they submit.

Change Application Status

Sets the application’s custom application status to a specific value.

Example: Automatically set the application status to “Closed” when a deadline date is reached.

Set Tags

Adds one or more tags to the application.

Example: Automatically tag applications as “Late submission” if they are submitted after a certain date.

Activate Form Part

Unlocks the next form part for the applicant, allowing them to continue filling in the application.

Example: Automatically activate Part 2 when the application status is set to “Shortlisted”.

Multiple actions

An automation can perform several actions at once. For example, when an application is approved:

  1. Change the application status to “Approved”
  2. Send a congratulations email to the applicant
  3. Add the tag “2025 Cohort”
