Repeater Fields

A repeater is a special field group that lets applicants add multiple entries of the same kind. For example, if applicants are asked to list their project team members, a repeater lets them add as many team members as needed.

How repeaters work

In the form, the applicant sees the repeater group with an Add button (the label can be customized per field). Each click adds a new copy of the field group; an entry can be deleted again with Remove.

Example use cases

  • Team members: name, role, and email for each person
  • Project items: description and budget amount for each item
  • References: name, organization, and contact for each reference
  • Publications: title, year, and link for each publication

Setting up a repeater

Repeaters are set up by the Fundament team as part of the form structure. The fields placed inside the repeater become the columns for each entry.

Validation

Within a repeater, the validation rules of the individual fields apply. In addition, a rule can require that a certain percentage of the entries meets it. With the AI in the portal module, the AI fills a repeater with one row per entry it finds.

Reviewing repeaters

In the application detail view, repeater entries appear as a list. Each entry shows all the defined fields, making it easy to scan multiple entries at a glance. A repeater cannot be released for revision on its own.
