Getting Started

Fundament is an application management platform. It gives organizations a structured way to collect applications, review them as a team, and communicate with applicants throughout the process.

Who uses Fundament?

Organization team members: the people inside an organization who configure forms, review incoming applications, vote on them, and make decisions. Depending on the role, a team member can do all of this or just some of it.

Applicants are external people who submit applications through the organization’s public portal. They never see the workspace; they only interact with the portal.

How does it work?

At a high level, the flow looks like this:

  1. The organization sets up one or more forms. Each form defines what information is needed from applicants for a specific call, program, or funding stream.
  2. The forms are published to the organization’s portal, a public-facing page where applicants can find and submit them.
  3. When an applicant submits, their submission becomes an application in the team’s workspace.
  4. The team reviews the application, changes its application status, leaves comments, votes, and can request a revision from the applicant.
  5. Optionally, automations send emails or change application statuses automatically based on rules the organization defines.

No technical knowledge is needed to use Fundament. The Fundament team sets up the structure of the forms together with the organization; most everyday tasks take only a few clicks.
