First Steps

For anyone who has just been added to Fundament as a team member, here is what to do first.

Logging in

Fundament uses magic link login; there are no passwords. Enter the email address and Fundament sends an email containing both a login link and a 6-digit one-time code (OTP). There are two ways to sign in:

  • Click the link: when it is opened in the same browser the login was started from, the sign-in completes with a single tap, no typing required.
  • Enter the code: type the 6-digit code into the login screen instead. This always works, including on a different device than the one the code was requested from.

Check the spam folder if the email does not arrive within a minute. The link and code are valid for a short time, so request a new one if they expire. Some corporate email filters open links automatically to scan them; Fundament handles this so the scan does not use up the login link, and the 6-digit code is always available as a fallback.

For extra account security, Two-Factor Authentication with an authenticator app can be set up in the Profile (top right), on the Security tab.

Finding the way around

After logging in, the main navigation of the workspace appears on the left side. Which entries it contains depends on the role. Owners see:

  • Dashboard: an overview of the forms with their application statuses, plus statistics on the applications received
  • Applications: the list of all applications the organization has received
  • Applicants: the address book of applicants and their groups
  • Organisation: details, people (the team), and groups
  • Polls: create and evaluate polls
  • Forms: the application statuses, checklists, and settings of the forms
  • Portal: content, branding, languages, and access of the portal
  • Finances: the financial overview (Finances module)
  • Settings: Email, Automations, Folders, and Modules

Members and Users only see the Applications entry in the navigation.

Reviewing an application

Open the Applications list

Click Applications in the left navigation. A table of all submitted applications appears, with columns such as application ID, title, application status, applicant name, form, and submission date.

Open an application

Click on any row to open the application detail view. It shows:

  • The applicant’s answers to every field on the form
  • A side panel with the current application status, the checklist, tags, the history, and polls

Change the application status

In the side panel, find the Application Status section and select a new application status from the dropdown. Then click Save Application; the dialog offers an optional note. Only saving creates a new revision, and the change then appears in the history.

In the History section of the side panel, click Add Comment, type the comment in the Add Comment dialog, and click Save. Comments are visible to Owners and Members, never to the applicant.
