Automations
Automations are rules that run automatically, without any manual work. Each automation watches for a specific event and then performs one or more actions, like sending an email, changing an application status, or unlocking a new form part.
How automations work
Every automation belongs to a form and has three parts:
TRIGGER → CONDITIONS (optional) → ACTIONS- Trigger: when does the automation run? (e.g. when an application status changes, or when a date is reached)
- Conditions: optional extra rules that must be met (e.g. only if the application is in a certain application status)
- Actions: what happens (e.g. send an email to the applicant)
Managing automations
Automations are created (Create New Automation) and managed under Settings → Automations. This requires the Owner role. Each automation has a Name, an optional Description and the Form whose applications it applies to; at least one action is required. When an application status that is used in automations is about to be deleted, Fundament shows a warning first.
