The Portal
The portal is the organization’s public-facing page on Fundament. It is the place applicants visit to find open forms and submit their applications.
What the portal contains
The portal has:
- A Welcome text: a welcome message or description of the organization and the types of applications it accepts
- A list of active forms: each form appears as a card with a title and optional description. Featured forms appear first and larger; the remaining forms follow under their own heading
- A footer with configurable links (e.g. the organization’s website, contact email, legal notices) and an optional block of text
What applicants see
This is how applicants experience the portal:
- They arrive at the organization’s portal URL (e.g.
app.fundament-app.ch/portal/name-of-organization) - They read the welcome text and see the available forms
- They click a form, log in, fill in their information, and submit
- After submitting, they see the form’s confirmation text, receive a confirmation email, and can return to view their application or, when the team requests it, revise it
Logged-in applicants also see their saved drafts on the portal start page (with Continue editing), their submitted applications, and open collaboration invitations. On smartphones, a form’s list of areas turns into a Jump to section … selector above the form.
Applicants do not need to complete a form in one sitting: from the first edited field on, their progress is saved continuously as a draft in their account, attached files included, and can be continued on any device. The note Last saved: … by … in the form shows when the draft was last saved and by whom. With Delete Draft, the applicant can remove a draft together with its files. Drafts are visible only to the applicant (and to any co-authors); the organization sees an application once it is submitted.
Drafts that have been neither opened nor edited for 30 days trigger a reminder email, and a second one follows 7 days before deletion; after 60 days without activity, the draft and its files are deleted. Both reminders are system email templates whose text the organization can customize.
Multiple languages
The portal can be made available in multiple languages (German, French, Italian, English). Which languages are offered is configurable, and the portal content can be translated for each language.
Error pages
When a portal page cannot be loaded, applicants see an error page with a reference number and a note to contact the organization they are applying to if the problem persists. The organization is therefore the first point of contact for support requests from the portal.
